Bookshelves!

Now that we know we're having a handsome baby boy ;) I've been searching high and low for cute pieces to make his room perfect! One of my favorite blogs of late is Ohdeedoh. I've been loving all of their posts having to do with all things kids! Today, while scrolling through I came across these ADORABLE book shelves....

I kinda wish they came in other colors, but golly...are they not just amazing?

That's really all I have for today. ha.
Happy Halloween everyone...be safe and have a fantastic weekend!

A busy, yet relaxing weekend...

So, I guess it's a little late in the week for me to be talking about last weekend, but I'm going to anways...ha. The hubs and I decided we needed a bit of a break, so we packed the car and headed south to the beautiful emerald coast of Santa Rosa Beach, FL! Our dear friends Aaron and Emily were kind enough to let us stay with them in their little beach bungalow (a 5 min walk from the beach!). Sadly I didn't take nearly the amount of pictures I should have taken...so I guess I'll just have to do that next time!

These are seriously some of my favorite beaches. I haven't been to all that
many, but if I'm going to the beach...this is where I'm going!

There were little jelly fish EVERYWHERE the first day out.
I'd never seen them before this weekend.

The hubs documenting the jelly fish infestation

Sitting on the lawn at the square at Seaside!

We just caught the end of Sunday night's beautiful sunset...
I want to go back there!

So in addition to relaxing a bunch on the beach I was able to get quite a bit of crafting done with the 7 hr drive. It feels so good to be productive, and makes the drive go by in a flash!

Coffee cup cozy...seriously, so cozy. ha.

Finished little man Hickman's first blanket!

New colors for baby booties...lavender and lime.

Fulfilled a couple baby bootie orders, including a newborn pair of bittersweet and hummus!

Finished another elephant for one of my nephews. I'm really digging
the navy and lime color combo these days...ha.

So that was my weekend...hope you guys are doing well. Yay for Thursdays and being that much closer to another weekend :)

One sweater down...

...A million more to go! As some of you suspected, I got right to making sweaters and blankets for our sweet baby just as soon as we found out we were having a HE! I've been sitting on this pattern for awhile now, and could hardly put it down once I started, cause I was so excited to see the finished product.

Voila!
This baby sweater making thing is addicting! I fear this poor baby will have nothing but sweaters to wear! I didn't have 4 matching buttons, so I went for the assortment instead. Wasn't sure if I was going to keep the random buttons, but after some sweet words of encouragement from some beautiful friends...I think I just might!

I've also started on the absolutely most soft, amazing baby blanket there could ever be! The name of this yarn is Heaven, and let me tell you, it has been quite the pleasure knitting this yummy square of goodness...

You can't really tell from the picture, but the yarn is a really soft minty blueish green. I'm in love...I may even make one for myself ;) ha.

So that's what I've been up to! Anyone else have any fun projects you're working on?
Happy Tuesday!

Drum roll please...

...............WE'RE HAVIN A BOY!!!!

...and so stinking excited about it!

It's going to be VERY hard to not buy every little piece of adorable clothing I come across, but I will do my best! I found the pattern for this little sweater awhile ago...I think this will be my first project...
I made Russ an adult version of this sweater last year for Christmas...I can't wait to make our little guy one to match!

Well that's our big news for today :) We're headed down to sunny FLORIDA tomorrow for a wedding! I cannot wait to bury my toes in the sand!

Have a great weekend everyone!!!

Shakin and a movin...

So I think I may have started to feel the baby shakin and a movin! This is of course my first, so it's been hard to decipher what is baby movements, or just gas...ha. The best way I can describe these random movements is almost like a flick inside of my belly...it's rather strange, but oh so exciting if it is in fact the baby!!!

In addition to the possible baby kicks...I continue to get random moments of "this is really happening...there is a little baby growing inside of my belly!". One of those moments came this morning as I was getting dressed. I looked down and what do I see...a rather large bump! It's been easy for me to forget...because I'm not sick or insanely tired anymore, and although I am showing, my belly hasn't really gotten in the way of me doing anything. So far, including the morning sickness, this really has been an easy pregnancy, which I know is a total blessing from God.

I'm starting to get back into knitting and crocheting, now that the weather and leaves are starting to turn. I bought the first 2 balls of yarn for a baby blanket for our little bumpkin! It is the most soft, comfy, wonderful yarn I think I've ever seen or felt! I know I should have waited until next week to actually get the yarn (for color purposes), but I just couldn't resist! It's a lovely soft minty green...and I promise to share pictures with you once I have the blanket finished! I'm also working on baby hats, and adult hats, and of course those adorable baby booties.

My parents will be coming to Nashville this weekend. I am so excited to see and spend time with them. I haven't seen them since July, and I cannot wait for them to see my ever growing bump! We haven't made official plans just yet...anyone have a good idea what to do this weekend in Nashville?

Yay for Thursday...one more day closer to the weekend!

Inspirations...

I tried really really hard to abstain from thinking about the baby room til we found out the sex of the baby...but I have failed. I put together a collage of things that I thought would be pretty neutral, and that we could swing one way or the other...what do you think?

I am absolutely in LOVE with that bird mobile. The pattern for the little stuffed birds, can be found at Spool. I can't wait to at least try to make one of these little guys...they're just so cute!

If we agree on even half of these ideas...we have a lot of work cut out for us...

We're one day closer to the weekend folks! Enjoy the rest of your Thursday. And if you live in the Nashville area, 2 of the bands on Come&Live! will be playing at The Anchor for free...so come on by if you can!
